For the last few months or so Rosie hasn't really been herself. She has run under jumps, jumped off the see-saw and alround has been a bit of a nuisance at competitions. Last Wednesday she went for a scan and we have found out that she has arthritis in both elbows. She has actually even started to grow new bone in the elbow area which is causing her a lot of pain. Being four years old, she is much too young for it and imagining what she could be like in 6 or so years compared to now i wouldnt be surprised if she couldn't walk. She is on metacam and a treatment called "easyflex" which is a type of chew that is meant to be irresistably tasty but being Rosie she doesn't like it and wont take a bite. What a nightmare!!!
Were hoping that something can be done surgically but for where it is and Rosie's size i imagine it could be tricky. Being Rosie she hasn't noticed and has just been full of energy because she doesnt get her usual 2 walks a day.
Anyway were gonna give her a months rest and see how she is in a few weeks time.
